So what does the dev lifecycle appear as if, well I’ve always likened it to the sport of Chutes and Ladders? As you progress through the method, you meet chutes and ladders that either launch you forward or move you back 3 spaces.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been having some great conversations both on YOU moz and therefore the main blog about how SEOs and developers view one another, how they will work together, and why they shouldn’t attempt to kill one another. Heh. The conclusion that we should always all know a minimum of touch about each other’s jobs which working together (rather than against each other) is useful to most are fairly obvious.
However, in most organizations, it’s not as cut and dry as just having the SEOs and developers working together. Often times a project team includes a project manager, business analyst, product manager, QA engineer, SEO, designer, development lead, and various other team members. So, how does one make sure that the SEO efforts don’t fall flat the cracks? What are the simplest ways to urge SEO into the dev process? Who are the key players? And what happens when SEO doesn’t make it into the process?
